Abstract

The transformation of global financial markets in recent decades has driven interest in Islamic financial instruments such as sukuk, but investor interest in sukuk is still relatively low compared to conventional instruments. This study explores the factors that influence investor interest in sukuk in Indonesia, focusing on the challenges and opportunities that exist. Data shows that sukuk issuance has decreased significantly and investment awareness among the younger generation is still low. Relatively lower sukuk yields compared to conventional bonds, lack of education, regulatory constraints, and limited market liquidity are the main factors leading to low investor interest. Despite government support and positive sukuk performance, there is still a gap in investor participation. To increase interest, strategies are needed that include education through webinars and social media, effective promotion, collaboration with the green community, and provision of clear information on sukuk. Improving sukuk literacy and financial inclusion are also important steps in creating a broader investor base. With regulatory reforms, better education, and the development of innovative sukuk products, sukuk has the potential to become a more attractive and competitive investment option in the global financial market.
